The recruitment process consists of 4 successive stages. Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Important Reservation Rules

OBC-NCL certificate must be issued between 01-04-2025 to 02-03-2026 and as per Central List. EWS income limit: Less than ₹8 lakh (FY 2024-25). PwBD: Minimum 40% benchmark disability with UDID mandatory. Temporary disability candidates are NOT eligible for reservation.

General Instructions for RRB Group D CEN 09/2025

Application Rules

Only ONE application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will lead to rejection of ALL applications and may result in debarment from future RRB/RRC examinations.
Candidates must choose only ONE RRB / Railway Zone, which cannot be changed later.
Post preferences must be indicated within the chosen Railway Zone.
Partial post options are allowed; however, candidates will be considered only for the posts opted.
No change in post preference is permitted after final submission.
Applications must be submitted online only through official RRB websites (listed in Para 24.0 of notification).

Identity Authentication

Candidates are strongly advised to authenticate using DigiLocker or Aadhaar at the time of account creation.
An Aadhaar-seeded bank account is mandatory for refund of application fee.
Candidates using alternative Photo ID documents will be subjected to strict scrutiny at all stages.

Account Creation

Candidates who created an account for CEN 2024 / 2025 must use the same login credentials.
A valid mobile number and email ID are mandatory and cannot be changed during the recruitment process.
Details entered in the “Create an Account” form are final and cannot be modified.

Application Modification

Modification window: 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026
Modification fee: ₹250/- per modification (non-refundable)
Any number of modifications allowed except Create Account details and Chosen Railway.
If category is changed from SC/ST to UR/OBC/EWS or from ExSM/Female/PwBD to non-reserved, the candidate must pay the fee difference (₹250/-) in addition to modification fee.
No modification requests will be entertained after 14.03.2026.

Live Photo & Signature Upload Instructions

Live Photograph

Photograph must be captured live during application (pre-existing photos are NOT allowed).
Candidate should face the camera at eye level with a neutral expression.
Wear non-white clothing (preferably dark colors).
No cap, mask, or glasses allowed.
Blurred or non-compliant photos may lead to rejection.

Signature Upload

Signature must be in running handwriting using black ink on white paper.
BLOCK / CAPITAL / DISJOINTED letters are NOT allowed.
Format: JPG/JPEG | Size: 30–49 KB | Minimum resolution: 140 × 60 pixels.
Signature must match at all stages (CBT / DV / ME / Appointment).

Scribe Facility (for eligible PwBD candidates)

Eligible categories: Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arms), Cerebral Palsy.
Other PwBD candidates must submit certificate from CMO / Civil Surgeon (Annexure V-G).
PwBD candidates with less than 40% disability and writing difficulty must submit certificate as per Annexure V-E.
Scribe must complete One-Time Registration (OTR) at rrbapply.gov.in.
Scribe OTR details must be entered between 15.03.2026 to 19.03.2026.
Scribe qualification must be one level below the candidate.
One scribe per candidate; scribe cannot be a candidate for the same CEN.
Compensatory time: 20 minutes per hour of examination.

Examination Centres

Exam centers will be allotted based on administrative and technical feasibility.
Candidates may be required to travel to other cities or states.
No request for change of exam center, date, or shift will be entertained.

Banned Items at Examination Centre

Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers.
Books, papers, calculators, pens, pencils, erasers, scales, writing pads.
Bags, belts, caps, purses, cameras, food items, water bottles.
Only e-call letter allowed inside the exam hall.
Pen will be provided at the test center.
No cloak room facility available.
Do NOT apply henna/mehndi on hands or feet (biometric capture issue).

Important Warnings

Use of unfair means, impersonation, forgery or misconduct will lead to lifetime debarment.
Provisions of The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 are applicable.
Post-exam analysis includes log review, biometric verification, photo matching and CCTV footage.
Beware of touts and fake websites. RRBs do NOT appoint agents.
Selection is strictly based on merit only.

Step 1: Create an Account

Visit official RRB website listed in Para 24.0.
Click on “Create an Account”.
Authenticate using DigiLocker/Aadhaar (recommended).
Enter valid mobile number and email ID.
Complete OTP verification and create login credentials.

Step 2: Fill Online Application

Login using credentials.
Select CEN 09/2025.
Choose ONE RRB / Railway Zone.
Fill personal and educational details.
Select post preferences and exam language.
Capture live photograph and upload scanned signature.
Upload SC/ST certificate if claiming free travel pass.
Indicate scribe requirement if applicable.

Step 3: Pay Application Fee

Fee: ₹500/- (General/EWS/OBC-NCL Male) | ₹250/- (SC/ST/PwBD/Female/ExSM/Transgender/EBC/Minorities).
Payment modes: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI.
All service charges borne by candidate.

Step 4: Final Submission

Application accepted after successful payment.
Confirmation sent via SMS and Email.
Download and save final application form.
